Balls In Your Court Week 2 CFB Picks

Week 2 is here as quick as week 1 was over, with arguably an even better slate. Alabama v Texas is more of a celebrity contest where one celeb has been in and out of rehab for the better part of a decade. Sure, there have been some bright moments here and there, but is that celeb really "back"? I kid, but this really is a brutal matchup for the Longhorns. We are blessed with Louisville v UCF on Friday night to start the weekend and arguably end the weekend even better with Baylor @ BYU Saturday night. Throw in a few middle of the slate games like Iowa State @ Iowa and Tennessee v Pitt, and you have a loaded weekend!

Balls In Your Court Week 2 Game of the Week: Baylor @ BYU (-3)

A bit more difficult of a decision for GOW in week 2, however this being a night game with two very equal teams it felt necessary. The night game feel in Provo is special and Baylor looks to prove to the country that they are building off last year, not rebuilding. While BYU will be missing their top two wideouts, they still have the quarterback advantage and a stiff running attack. Christopher Brooks will give Baylor fits, but the defense looked quick against South Florida in the opener. This is about as tough of a betting call as you can make, with us knowing so little about each squad. While USF is much stiffer comp than Albany, both teams were largely untested in week 1. I expect to see a heavy dose of running the ball as BYU attempts to use elevation to their advantage and Baylor has plenty of weapons to utilize in the rushing attack. Jaren Hall gives BYU a massive boost here as well as playing a night game at home, but ultimately I feel Baylor will have too much speed and too many weapons. The only thing I look forward to more this weekend than this matchup, is throwing the #HornsDown to start the Saturday slate.

Jon's Game of the Week Pick: Baylor 31 - BYU 21

Zach's Game of the Week Pick: Baylor 26 - BYU 24

Jon's GOW Record: 1-0

Zach's GOW Record: 1-0
